The glass on this striking piece originally comes from Eastern Europe and was used in trade with West Africa over 200 years ago. Over time it became a traditional part of wedding ceremonies in Mali - therefore the name "Mali Weds." The proof of their age and travel is shown by the slight scratches on some of the beads. We love the marks left by others who have handled them; a remembrance of their history and distinction.
