The glass beads in these striking pieces originally come from Eastern Europe and were used in trade with West Africa over 200 years ago. Over time, they became a traditional part of wedding ceremonies in Mali - therefore the name "Mali Weds." The proof of their age and travel is shown by the slight scratches on some of the beads. We love the marks left by others who have handled them; a remembrance of their history and distinction.

These Limited Edition solid colorways of what we call our Special or Unique Mali Weds are those that are harder to find as they grow more scarce. They are only available every few years once we have collected enough to make a necklace!

Each necklace uses unique stones and color or shape may vary from piece to piece, making each one as unique as its owner.
